|
|
Hi All ,
I have recently installed TomTom navigator 6.030 with latest UK n IE map v6.75 which has in built pocketgps speed camera database with all .ogg sound files.
It works fine and it warns on every safety cameras but only problem is it doesnt warn with speed limit for example, if gatso_40 coming in 300 yards, its only warns(speaks) "WARNING GATSO AHEAD" while it should warn(speak)" WARNING GATSO AHEAD SPEED LIMIT 40 MILES PER HOUR".
I dont understand why it happens because I have installed all .ogg sound files in map folder which warns with speed limit like pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ogg, pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ogg, pocketgps_uk_gatso_40.ogg and so on I have checked all sound files with ogg player but tomtom doesnt warn with speed limit.
In TomTom Nav v6.030 there is no option to choose sound files in option 'Warn when near POI'
Everything else is working perfect it shows all safety cameras while traveling or even in demo tour. It warns "WARNING REDLIGHT CAMERA AHEAD" or "WARNING GATSO AHEAD" or "WARNING MOBILE CAMERA AHEAD" but without speed limit
Can any one help me? Much appreciated
Thank you |

Welcome to the forum, it sounds very much like you have installed the consolidated speed camera database which is only capable of letting you know the actual camera type. What you need to do is install the Speed Zoned database instead and configure the warnings again, then you will get the warning of camera type AND speed limit - Mike |

Hi, If you are using OGG files, you shouldn't be using data.chk files too, its one or the other, and the best way to go is the OGG way. You need the SPEED ZONED OV2 database files, the SPEED ZONED OGG files, and you need the bmp. icons, Put them all in the map folder, and set the distances up etc and away you go. Have a read through here, number 4, it may help.

If it isn't saying the speed, then you can't have downloaded the speed zoned voice files.
You want the OGG files from here
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-ogg-files.php
I use LIZ, its the 5th set down, the speed zoned set. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

Where did you get the warning sounds from? did you name the files yourself.
There is a Gatso 50.ogg file missing from your file set, I would try as tanda mentioned and load up a set of voice files downloaded from this web site. Once installed go back through Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI and re-configure all of your warnings - Mike |

Hi Mike, Tanda and all,
Thanks a tonn for your support :D
Its now working perfect.
What I have done is as per yr instruction I have replaced ogg files and reconfigured the whole settings and it works. I think there must be some probs with that ogg files.
I have just tested so sorry for replying it late.
Anyway, I am happy now :D :D
Cheers guys |

Delete these files - they are not required in the speed zoned set of cameras.
pocketgps_uk_mobile.ogg
pocketgps_uk_sc.bmp
pocketgps_uk_SPECS_var.ogg
If you think you might get the wrong ones, leave them there - they're not doing any harm, this is just a tidying up exercise. _________________ Dennis
