I have TTN2 installed on a 2210. with Fortuna Clip on BT GPS
It used to work fine, but now it is very slooooow. Not only the screen refresh when updating the map, but route calculation.
It is ridiculous that Cardiff to Birkenhead took 1.5 hours to calculate. I was almost bloody there by the time TomTom had worked out the M5 / M6 was the best route!
Anyone got any ideas how to speed things up?
Thanks

Sounds like memory card access issue.
What type of memory card are you using?
I would try defragging the card and see if it makes a difference. If not I would try it with the maps on the other type of flash card as you have a choice on the 2210. |

This sounds like a problem with your memory card. Simple to confirm, remove card and install a small 16mb map to main memory. Test and if issues are no longer present then your memory card has a problem.
If it is the card, Softwinter's Storage Tools utility is the first place to start with a defrag. get it here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I still think its a memory card issue. Try my suggestions and see? _________________ Darren Griffin |

i had problems when i installed the software on an SD card. make sure it's installed in main memory. even voice commands have to go to main memory.
the maps can go to SD or CF card. |

you might have also set route calculation to 'strict.' |

OK, I tried the disk tools and found no errors. Formatted the CF (2.2GB Trancend) and reinstalled the GB map - still too slow to use.
I then purchased a Lexar 128MB card and installed the GB map on this - PROBLEM SOLVED - TTN2 works fine now.
One thing though - I also had the same problem with a 1GB Microdrive. Could there be an issue with maps on very large storage media? Or am I just unlucky with two faulty cards?! |
