After a very protracted battle with Medion where they 'lost' my GoPal 210 which was in for repair, they have sent me a GoPal 205 as a substitute, claiming they did not have any 210s in stock. They assured me on the phone this was a newer, better, more up to date unit. I received it last week and to me it actually looks bulkier, cheaper and crapper than the 210. I haven't managed to find a single site that stocks both the units so that I can compare prices / specs - do any of you know whether they've actually sent me a poor substitute?
thanks for any help before I unleash hell on the rubbish customer services crew!

Hi
This is a hard question to answer, as to all intents & purposes the 205 doesn't exisit!!
You've noticed that the amount of info on the web is sparce, as it is on Medion's site!
It's certainly cheaper (sold at Tesco's, for about 2 days over Easter) for sub £70.00.
As for the spec'??....the basic unit is fine & can be seriously modded..as can the 210 I suppose.
Don't ask me how (I'm trying to get my head around it all)...just check out some of the threads.
However, if you aren't happy with the 205, I reckon that you are well within your rights to demand that Medion replace the 210...

Cheers
DN

If i remeber correctly the 205 has win-ce.5 and the 210 win-ce 4.2 the difference is the software they put on and the look of the unit

So...the 205 is 0.8 better..........which makes a the difference!
A colleague of mine has just been on, saying that the 205 is back in Tesco's at £100.00.....do you reckon that it's still a bargain- Gary?

Hi Dave it was a bargain at £70 but now it's gone up in price to £100 i would shop around first to see what else is availiable then ask yourself what do i want from the unit to suit my needs. you can still get these off ebay quite cheap as well.personaly having bought one for £70 i would hate to pay the £100 they now ask. Im actualy going to sell mine as i now have the xda-orbit and no longer require it. But my opinion it is a great little unit

I is going to be the £70 i paid because ive only used it once out side and im also includeing the new AE software with all europe maps none of this came with the unit. So i think a bargain price as the Medion in the shops only come with GB maps and basic ME software. everthing is in new condition

Sounds good to me.
I've left a message for a colleague to get back to me.
Might be an idea to put it on the items for sale forum too.
