|
|
Yesterday whilst driving in heavy rain on the M54 my 660 reported 'lost satelite reception'. OK I thought that is resonably acceptable given the conditions.
Today I am underneath a blue sky with broken clouds, again in the midlands, no rain!, and I am still having problems acquiring a satelite signal. The 660 is asking if I am indooors when in my stationary car.
Is any one else having these problems and if so where in the country are you. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 660 FM

I'm indoors, it's raining outside and I still have full satelite reception with my 660. In the main screen press the "satelite signal" in the top left corner and see what it shows. I'm in Surrey right now. |

When I go to the Satellite Signal screen it does not show any attempt at looking for a signal. There are no bars on the right going up and down or satellite icons flashing.
I left it on for 12 hours in the car (stationary) and all I got was a lost satelitte reception screen. When I fold down the ariel it says GPS off and when I open it up it says aquiring signal, so the ariel is not broken.
I am literally lost as to what to do next. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 660 FM

Telephone Garmin support and discuss it with them; sounds like a hardware fault to me. |

I'm having similar problems. My Nuvi 660 worked great for a month or so and now over the last few days it can't get a signal from the satellites anymore. I am going to try updating the firmware and if that doesn't work I'll call Garmin looking for a fix or an RMA. |

Updating to current had no effect for me. I'll be calling Garmin on Monday. |

Hi All,
I bought a 660 on friday, having had an iQue 3600 more than 3 years ago. I'm very impressed with the display, much better than "Betty", also the speed picking up the sats. Atm I'm indoors, outside its belting down, and I have 5 green bars.
I updated the software this morning to 3.8 and 2.8. The screen is much less sensitive than before. I have to use a very positive finger pressure.
