I,ve trawled through the Q&A's and most of the posts but I still have a problem.
Iv'e downloaded the cam d/base and installed it, on checking my Nuvi 300 this is what I find in the POI file, poi.gpi, safety camera uk.gpi and safety camera uk. unl, the first one poi.gpi has the latest date and is the largest so I assume this is the download ?
Secondly on the SD card I have the following in a folder POI a file poi.gpi the same size and date as in the Nuvi so I am assuming this is a duplicate, Which are in the correct place to activate alerts?, I have both safety cam and POI alerts switched on but the alerts I am getting seem to be from the old Safety camera uk not from the new d/loads.
I'm confused what's wrong?

1. What Garmin device?
2. Are you using POI Loader to install the camera db?

safety camera uk.gpi and safety camera uk. unl - are these PGPSW or Garmin? I don't recognise the file name as PGPSW's, and I don't think they use a .unl file - that will be Garmin, I'd guess?
Also if you did use POI Loader, did you use the same folder for the camera files as the one with the old data in it? _________________ David

This is the Garmin Cyclops database and the unlock file for the unit.
itsonlymee - I would only load the POIs and PGPSW database to the unit memory and not bother with an SD card if you don't really need it. To ensure you get alerts Custom POIs should be selected under Proximity Alerts and be aware you'll only get alerts to cameras if you are speeding when you approach them in most cases. |

Safety camera uk .gpi and the unl file were already on the garmin, I think these were a free trial bundled with the Garmin when I bought it because it had a cam warning software fitted, but it was too expensive to upgrade every year, thats why I joined here, but it is still active.
The POI loader didnt ask for a specific folder to upload to, just the device, it did ask where the file to upload was kept on the computer though |

First screen: Find device= nuvi
sec screen : Please select where the files are to be found= My PC
What units
What mode= Express
All using the latest version of POI loader, it then uploads the data, at no time does it ask where on the Nuvi it should go. ??? |

I am beginning to doubt if proximity alert works on my unit, I dont think I have ever heard it on any of the POI's loaded,( and yes it is switched on), because if I delete the Cyclops and unlock file I get no warning's at all. |

I see from a previous thread this is a Nuvi 300.
Check under...
Settings, Proximty Points, Alerts
and make sure Alerts are ON. |

Remove the SD Card, delete the POI.GPI file from the Nuvi, re-download the database & reload with POILoader. |

Depends what you want. Speed Zoned icons will show you the speed limit and Consolidated icons will show the camera type. |
