just as an update,

I registered the software with 'destinator', asked if it was possible to install speed cameras, they said it was but didnt tell me how. Ive been trying different ways to do this but getting nowhere, 'POIedit' has a lot of info and recognises destinator as accepting cameras, but, after an hour i was loosing the will to live.
If i find out more ill let you know.

OK iv had a play around this weekend and got it sorted.

put the cams on via 'favourites importer' in destinator consul then just change the bmp files.

The camera files have to be in a favourites folder called 'Auto Alert 1' or 'Auto Alert 2' Edit these folder settings and tick the alert boxes to have warning flash on screen. Some of the other forums mention about editing voice files to give better warnings but I still can't figure out how to do this.

Hi all
I am also new to GPS & have just got the Packard Bell 400. So far so good. Seems an ok bit of kit for the price. I am sure the experienced users may have other views. Be interested in them if so!
I found cutting the thread to:http://homepage.ntlworld.com/moudym/ works.
I need some help as well! I am not new to computers, however so far I find no Auto Alert folders in the My Favorites. Do you just create them as you do with the computer and add the data there as described?
cheers

If you select one of the standard maps, the Favourites Importer function will no longer be greyed out...

I've downloaded the .dat files from
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/archive/index.php/t-36268.html but the Destinator Software seems to want to .csv files rather than .dat. Is there something im doing wrong??!! BTW - I've got the Packard Bell GPS 400 too...

Cheers chaps :D
