Hi there,
I originally downloaded all the speed camera files for my Tom Tom Go 700 last year some time but now, having returned from the USA, thought I had better update them.
Since originally putting them on the Tom Tom (I do have Tom Tom Home now by the way on the computer) I have purchased the latest up to date UK and Ireland map from Tom Tom.
Previously I was accessing the UK via the Western Europe map. I am in the process of starting to download the new May 2007 files but wonder where on Tom Tom these should be put and will they automatically override the old ones in the Western Europe map or will I have to delete all the previous files I had and put them in twice - on the Europe one and also on the new UK one.
I look forward to hearing from someone - maybe Oldboy will be able to help me as he did once before. Thanks. |

back,
I presume that if you intend to use both maps you will have to download the database to both map folders, but if you intend to use just one then you would only need to download it to that map folder only

Mike is correct. If you want the cameras to work with both maps, then you need to place the files in both the Western Europe folder AND the UK and Ireland folder. |

I just noticed your second question (makes mental note to use all 4 eyes next time )
Copy them to your storage card / map folder e.g. "UK and IE plus major roads of WE"
As long as you download the same database you downloaded last time, i.e. speed zoned, single file etc. then the old files will be overwritten and your database will be up to date.

Thanks a lot folks. I have now downloaded the files into both map folders on Tom Tom and I was given the chance to "zap over" the old files already existing in the Western Europe Folder.
I downloaded all 33 files (by speed and camera type) so once I had done that if there were any old files (my last download was dated December 2005)!! I just got rid of them. I went carefully through the instructions I found on line for the Tom Tom OV2 installation and spent ages assigning Bugle noises to each speed camera but am now finished! Time for a G & T now I think. |

Why not banish the bells and beeps for good, have a look at the instructions and available voice warnings you can put on the device, this way the device will actually tell you of the approaching camera type and applicable speed limit, click here for more details - Mike |
