Wired gps won't work with TTN6

I've just upgraded my Dell Axim X50v from WM 2003SE to WM5, and upgraded from TTN5 to TTN6. I am using a Leadtek 9531 wired gps receiver into a Seidio powered holder. On TTN5 it worked great and the TTN6 maps etc all work ok. The problem is the TTN6 cannot find the gps receiver. If I go into the gps configure part and select any of the COM ports available it doesn't find the gps. Previously I connected onto the serial port on com 1 but this is not now available. Anyone have any ideas?

I have an X51v WM5 with TT6.03 and 660 maps working OK with BT, CF and serial port GPS units (not at the same time ).

Now it may be a total red herring as you have a different PDA but...

Have a look at the last post in this thread on aximusers.com for details http://www.aximusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6169 but there is an issue with the friendly name of the Serial Com port under WM5. It gets some corrupted characters in it. The fix is to open the registry with a Reg Edit program and correct the name of the port - it fixed the issue for me.
