Garmin US maps on SD card

Hi there

I'm a relative newbie to Satnavs so please be gentle with me.

I have a Nuvi 350 and am going on holiday to the US in november.

My dad is going to FLorida in July and he has a nuvi 360.

We were considering buying the Garmin SD card with the US maps and sharing it between us (cost and card - as we are v unlikely to be in the US at the same time ever)

I've read a variety of threads on here and it seems to be diferent people say this will or won't work.

SO i have two questions -

1) Will an official Garmin SD card with US maps work in both my dad's and my nuvi.

2) Will it still work ok on a UK machine if i import the sd card from a US shop?
