OK before I sling it through the wall can someone help me?

I have a Garmin SatNav (StreetPilot C310) that I want to use to get from Geneva Airport to Alpe d'Huez. It has the City Navigator Europe NT+ map (v8) which I think has full coverage in France.

It's obvious that there are lots of French addresses in there. I just can't enter anything that will get me anywhere near where I want to go.

Even when I try to enter things I'd expect to find it's not working e.g. I've entered 'Rue La Fayette' and it's offering me 12 different one but not the one in the middle of Paris!

Even trying to use 'Grenoble' I get offered Grenay (D62), Grentheville (D14) & Greny (D76) but no Grenoble.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to view the map on the SD card at all so I can see what is/isn't included?

Or give me (basic) instructions on how to enter something that will get me close to Alpe d'Huez?

Grenoble - no problem on my 660 which uses the same maps.

Rue La Fayette is stored under La Fayette (otherwise there would be an awful lot of R's!). I,too, could not find it until I entered just the L and then Done, scroll down to La Fayette. Sometimes the search does not work very well.

Please don't throw it at the wall - Garmin won't regard it as a warranty claim!

Some continental addresses and codes cover a wide area.
On my nuvi I use Google Earth to pin point a destination if having problems.

The Google Earth pointer shows the coordinates at the bottom left of the screen. I enter the coordinates and save to the nuvi and then route to the pin pointed destination.
I guess you can do the same on model!

If you go to www.mappy.com they have very good aerial photo's of France that you can cross reference with Google Earth map if you have a problem.
