Installed TT Home on PC, connected, backed up. All good. Did a 'backup backup' in Explorer, just by dragging and dropping the TTOne contents into a folder on HDD. All still good. Clicked "Download your updates" in Home, knowing that there's a software upgrade that should appear - PC did a little bit of work and then told me this :
"Cannot install this item: Ephemeris file: This file is included with the item but should not be there: lto.dat"
Hmmm. What's that all about, then? Should I be concerned? 8O
Don't quite understand what you're suggesting I should do, UK2007. I'm already using TT Home, clicking on "Download Your Updates", and getting the error message I described.
Hmm. Odd. TT Home did a couple of updates last night, taking it up to v1.5-something. After each one, I tried a device update, and got the same message. Tried rebooting, and still got the same error message. So I got annoyed with it, turned everything off and went to bed. Got in from work this evening, gave it another try for the hell of it, and the bloody thing updated itself perfectly - no errors at all. Grrr. :x
On another note, when I connected it a minute ago to update the speed cameras, it said something about my device not being registered to my Tomtom account (it is, I changed the device last night). So I logged into My Tomtom on the website and checked the device code - which is correct, apart from the fact that it's not including the space in the middle that appears on the info screen on the device itself (but that shouldn't matter, right??). So I unplug it, reconnect, and bingo! It works just fine. Does TT Home always play silly like this? Or is it just me? I haven't used it until yesterday (all my previous Tomtom use has been on PDAs), and I have to say that based on my experiences with it so far I'm really not impressed.
