Hi Guys:
I am running the following maps on my iPAQ 6910 running TT 6.030.8320:-
UK & Ireland v660.1219
Western Europe v660.1256
I am told that the 660.1219 map is from Tele Atlas & 660.1256 comes from NavTeq.
Is there a way of verifying just who makes a particular map?
If anyone can help I'd be grateful.
Thanks

If you want to check the mapping details of a map you have installed to your device simply tap the sat strength meter followed by version, then Copyright, this screen will detail either Tele Atlas or NavTeq along with some other information - Mike |

Thanks Mike .. I have been told that this "copyright" info is read directly from the TomTom "exe file" & has no bearing on the map actually in use.
All of my maps (even those claimed to be Navteq) show TeleAtlas in this area.

I think people have been spreading too many rumours!
If you look on the TomTom site only the TT Rider is claimed to use Navteq maps, all other products use TeleAtlas. Why TT Rider uses Navteq is a mystery to me - presumably they bought the device in from someone else.
They certainly arent going to use more than one map supplier for the same map within the same release number.
When they add additional countries then it is possible that certain countries arent covered by TeleAtlas and either TeleAtlas or TT could use mapping from other suppliers. |
