Try again but this time make sure the "Show Link" check box adjacent to the download button is selected, this works for me - Mike

Ok, you have e-mail, the four categories you have had trouble with :

Accomodation
Car Delaerships
Food and Drink
Shopping

All contain a large number of sub-categories, far more than any other of the main headings.

To download these I simply selected a set of twenty sub categories each time which downloaded fine, each download contains the same file name for each part of the sub-category so I store the expanded files in seperate folders.

Next use POIEdit to Append the ov2 files together (File/ Append) building a single file containing all the sections sub-categories - save this as it is your final POI file, keep the name the same though otherwise the icon won't show up.

Repeat the above for each of the main categories you have trouble with and Bobs your uncle, (OK I did the donkey work and e-mailed you the files on this occasion) - Mike

i believe we are going to split up shopping into, for example, grocery, electrical etc etc

not sure when though but it's been mentioned.

MaFt, It may be a good idea, but might I suggest publishing a list of proposed categories first, some of the existing entries in some categories may seem possibly contentious, but thats only my opinion and some may not agree, I note you say grocery should this be supermarkets which may be a prime candidate for its own category?, also some of the entries names may mean nothing at all to people in different parts of the country and possibly neither to oldie when entering (no offence meant oldie),I have seen some entered as museums which are not, it also may be wise to time limit feedback on listing possibilties to gain a consensus of opinion and avoid an endless discussions, just a thought before changing to avoid adding problems,

what about our local co-op? it's no way a supermarket, but would fit perfectly under grocery shopping.

just one trivial example! also remember these wise words: "you can't please everyone all the time"
