Searching for places in other countries

Hi all,

I've just got TomTom Navigator 6 with the Western Europe maps. Unlike TomTom Navigator 5, it seems the Western Europe maps are all in a single map file. This is great, but its causing a problem:

I'm in the UK, I want to look up a place in France that I might go to on holiday - how do I do that? If I do a search by address or postcode, I only see places in the UK.

I can't see anywhere to change what country it should show information for... do I have to be in the country to search for a place in it?

What happens if you want to Navigate to ..., or Find in Browse Map, TT assumes that you might want to use again somewhere that you've already looked at. A bit like Recent Destinations. It holds about 30.

If you type in, for example aa, you will see a list of strange places to visit.;)

Ok, I see what you mean... Not sure why that didn't work before. Its quite slow, maybe I'm just impatient!

It doesn't appear to work with postcodes though. For example, if you want to find where the postcode 59149 is in France, you won't get anything... I'm fairly sure postcodes used to work in France in Navigator 5...
