It's actually 1GB of internal solid state memory but apart from that we reported the new unit back in January when it was announced in Vegas.
There is a user in the forums with one already. It still has an SD slot but the maps come pre-installed on the internal 1GB. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ah, I see.
Is there, would there be any markings on the box to show this was the new version I wonder? |

Hi,
My first post so please be gentle. 8O
I have one of these new units, got it last week, a TomTom One V2 Europe, previously used a Garmin.
The issue is, the internal memory cannot be accessed when an SD card is inserted....took me a while to find this out and I don't know if its the same for other models.
See HERE for further clarification. I only have a 1gb card at the mo so its not worth it for me.
Totally wrecked my plan to put POI's and Cameras on an external card to free up resources on the internal. You have to copy your maps onto the external SD card should you wish to use one.
Cheers |

As with any Device, back it up to the PC, even flash memory can become corrupt.
If you need more space consider removing a few of the supplied voices that you won't use (you can always put them back on from the back-up).
The POI files are only small, a couple of voice files removed should free up space for loads of POI - bear in mind you can only have upto 100 custom POI categories installed to your device, any more than that and it won't work with the POI files in a controlled manor - Mike |
