I am running TTN on a iPAQ 1940 with GPS assist. When I turn the GPS off the blue tooth manager still tries to connect to the receiver and the only way I can stop it is with a soft reset. Any ideas ?

Really quitting TomTom Navigator (that's using File -> Exit in anything except the Navigator mode, or the Exit Application option on the Navigator menu) should make the TomTom GPS driver shut down. If you look at your Today screen, the little satellite dish icon should disappear.

However, unless you've installed software that makes the X button behave as a close button, all it will do is minimise applications rather than close them. If you're simply pressing the X at the top right of the screen (as you'd do to close something in Windows), that won't close the program.

If that's not the issue, then it could be GPSassist - it caused various problems in Pocket PC 2002, and I gather its compatibility with Pocket PC 2003 is even worse. The author admits it needs a rewrite, but I'm not holding my breath that it will ever happen - with the author having new job and TomTom Navigator 3 possibly not being too far away (which will probably move the goalposts again), I have my doubts that we'll ever see a new version of this program. Certainly I would not recommend the use of GPSassist on Pocket PC 2003.
