Anyone using the HP Ipaq rx5935?
I comes preloaded with TomTom 6 but I simply cannot find a way to enter a customer POI (eg speed camera database).
What is the problem?
Well there is NO map folder as TT6 comes preinstalled on internal memory.
Any ideas? |

Did you get a DVD with the device containing the maps? - these need to be installed to memory card, then you can install POI, without a map installed you will only have the application on the device, and with just the application you won't be able to do a geat deal - Mike |

It turns out that the map folder was hidden. I had to "Show hidden folders" and then Icould navigate to:
My Windows Mobile-Based Device\iPAQ File Store\iPAQ GPS\
From where I could see the map folder - phew! |

If you examine the device using Windows Explorer whilst the device is docked via Active Sync can you locate a map folder, it should exist it is in to this folder you need to copy the POI files to, What map coverage has the device actually got installed then we might be able to suggest a folder name to look for, is there just UK, or UK + Europe and is the Europe coverage at street level definition? - Mike |

As I said, I resolved the problem and found the map folder by turning on the "Show hidden folders" from within Explorer.
Once the hidden folders were visible I could add the OV2 and BMP files and everything worked fine. |

Hi,
I'm using the HP Ipaq RX 5935 too. I've unhidden the folders but I still can't get the Speedcamera .OV2s to work.
I can load them on through POIedit. All the POIs work apart from the Speed cameras!
Same thing happens when I try and copy and paste the .OV2 and .BMP files manually to the map folder (Western_Europe).
I have tried to enable them in the list of POI types, but the speed cameras just arent listed there at all.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Banarion |
