I have an issue pairing a Go710 with my Nokia 6230i and hope someone can help. I can pair the devices fine except that everytime I need to re-enter the passcode. Can someone advise how to automate this process.

The settings are identical for this device as they are for my Hands free Bluetooth carkit which works just fine and does not require the passcode each time.

Welcome
Only thing I can think of is you need to ensure your 6230i allows itself to be seen by all. I have the same setup as you with no problems.

Thanks for your reply. I can confirm that I have my phone set to "Seen by all" I suspect that I would not be able to even see the phone if this was not the case.

As I mentioned I can pair devices without any problem. The issue is that each time that I turn on the GPS I am prompted to enter a passcode to establish the pairing.

So sorry. My 710 has Bluetooth enabled and when I switch it on (my phone is never switched off), it just blinks and says "connected to Nokia 6230i". It just does it - magic, new technology, whatever. I don't know how I've done it! Back in my youth I used to shout at a tin can with string, it's all different now. The only other thing I know is if any other bluetooth thingy is already connected, it won't pick up a second one - I have a GO700 also paired and whichever gets switched on first gets connected and the other doesn't - I don't suppose that helps at all!

In bluetooth settings, paired devices, devicename, options, theres a setting auto-connect without confirmation. Set it to yes. That may do it.

I have a Go 510 and the device will pair with my SE W800i straightaway in phone mode. For the traffic alerts it was a different matter and it always had to ask. That was until I updated the device when I got a RDS TMC thingy. After that it seemed to pair straightaway for the traffic.

I've just updated the software again, and guess what? It now starts to ask again! Crying or Very sad

I have a nokia 5500 and TT700 which pair just fine but initially I had the same problem .... reading the manual I found that under the TT700 link / proprties was the option to set "as authorised" .. once done it then connects up fine.. without needing authorisation .. just as it says on the tin ... Smile

hope this helps

I submitted a fault directly to Tomtom and finally received a reply. I have not tested the process to see if it resolves this issue but thought I would post the link in case it assists someone else check out the link - http://service.tomtom.com/cgi-bin/uk.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=6187&p_created=1158057306
