I have just transferred some CDs to MP3 files and put then on SD cards. All work OK but I have a problem with double CDs. The sort order seems to be alphabetical then track number disregarding album title. For example an Elton John double cd. The disks have different titles (albeit it they just have Disk1 and Disk2 at the end of the title) and show up as separate folders on my SD card, however when I scroll through the album or play the files they appear in alphabetical then track order.
Now I guess apart from being a bit annoying it doesn't really matter for a normal song CD but for shows etc you need to play all disk one before all disk two.
Any ideas how I can get round this? _________________ Nick Russell

you could edit the mp3 tags so that it will run in the order you require. many freeware tools available for download on the interwebnetthingy if you google 'freeware mp3 tag editor'. _________________ Garmin i3 gone (sold on eBay)

The problem is that the Nuvi uses the detail within the mp3 tags, not the directory structure. The only way to separate out the two "albums" is to modify the mp3 tags to distinguish between the two CDs, and then they will appear as separate albums.
Interestingly, I have a number of albums all of which have the album title of "Greatest Hits" - these all appear under 1 album on the Nuvi, and hence there is no easy way to play just one of them. _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |

Thanks for the prompt replies. I shall experiment with an MP3 tag editor and report back. Does anyone know a good one? If not I shall just try a few from a goggle search. _________________ Nick Russell

Sorted !!! :P
Use Zortam MP3 Media Studio - here
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/freeware/2006/11/23/zortam-mp3-media-studio/
Just renumber the tracks 1 up on disk one, then continue numbers on disk two etc will play in the correct order.
I guess if you have several "Greatest Hits" CDs you could just renumber all the tracks 1 up. _________________ Nick Russell
