My 310D maps seem to refresh slowy ie when I pass a street, the 310 will show me passing the street several hundred feet later. Ive set mapping detail to least in settings but its still the same?

Are you following a route when this happens?

I notice this if I just have the map on - but no route - on my 660. I think it's to do with the way they handle junctions. Because of the 'lock to centre line of road' it 'waits' to get a good fix on which road you have taken. Garmin seem to have opted for a safe approach to this which delays the update by a few seconds under these conditions. I haven't seen it when navigating a route (it assumes you are still following it!)

I guess if you have no route the assumption is that you know where you are going.

Could also be an out of sync section of map. Although these devices lock to the roads if the map is out by only a small amount the GPS device will continue to try to put you in the field ajacent to you.

It can't abviously do this as i must stick to the roads, but when a side road passes it will look to jump to its real location.
When it does this you will have already passed the road, and it will have to recalculate itself again.

Found this on my Navman in a few places.Very annoying on motorways when it can jump you completly off the motorway. Sad

I'm with philpugh on this one - the only time I've ever noticed lag on my 310D was one day when I didn't have a route planned.
