I have a TTG 300, with the factory SD card.
I upgraded to V 6.14 thru home, but I was getting no voice prompts. I played around with it forever, could not figure it out.
I decided to revert back to the old version and try again.
I did this by clearing the contents of the card, and copying over my backup that I made manually before I udgraded.
It seems that all files were copied over correctly (by looking at the properties of the folder) but when I put the disk back into my TTG 300, I get an error message of "No Maps Found!"
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Have you tried a pin-in-the-hole Reset? Hold it in for a few seconds. _________________ Richard

I made sure that there were the same amount of files on the disk, as there were on the backup folder, so I assume that I got all of the hidden files.
Worst-case scenario, what can I do if I can't figure out where my maps went??
Thnx |

There was an occasional problem with the GO not recognising maps. The TomTom suggestion is to copy all the files out to your PC and then copy them back again.
Not tried it but they say it restores the link between the system and the map. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Not saying this IS the problem, but if you can't see the hidden files, you won't see them on either the source or destination, so having the same number of visible files isn't telling you much!
Have you actually set Windows to show you all hidden files, and also the file extensions, so you can check those are all correct? ("Tools"/"Folder Options"/"View" tab).
Of course, depending how you made your backup folder, it may be too late. If you manually copy and pasted, you would have missed the hidden files that time too. |

I actually did enable hidden files when I made the backup, I just forgot how to do it when I copied it over to my disk yesterday.
I'll do what you said, and hopefully that'll cure it! |

Still nothing. If this is something that I cannot repair on my own, what will I have to do to get up and running again? |

Did you try sgould's suggestion too?
If you did, I'm afraid I'm running out of ideas.
You might have to try TomTom support. |

I did try all suggestions. Nothing has helped.
I have contacted customer support (level 1 I guess)
She told me she would pass on my info to Level 2 CS, and I still haven't heard back from them...and that was on Monday.
Guess I'll try them again! |

Hi
I'm having the same problem - no maps found - on my Orange SPV.
the problem started when I used TomTom Home to install the upgrade to the Navigator software that it said I needed.
The software installed and then wouldn't see the map that the previous version had no problems seeing.
I've tried hard resetting, uninstalling and reinstalling, copying all the map files to the root of the SD, copying them into a folder, all as per suggested on various forums.
TomTom Home won't let me reinstall the maps because it says it can't see the installation file but the path is so long on the error message I can't actually see the name of the file. I'm guessing it was the .CAB file that was downloaded. I've tried putting this back into the correct folder that it seems to need to look in, that hasn't worked.
I was working on this very frustrating problem all day yesterday, if anyone can help I'd be eternally grateful.
Thanks in advance
MsM |

Which device are you trying to install this to, and which version of TomTom has given you the problem? - Mike |

HI Mike
thanks for the response.
It's an Orange SPV m1500 which I believe is the HTC Alpine, if that's any help. It's the same as the O2 XDA II.
The version of TomTom is Navigator 6.
Cheers

Can you re-install the previous version of TT and the map then see if this works? - it should do if it did before. You can select the old version from Home or install from the disk? - Mike |
