Hi.
I have a TT v2 Europe and ordered the new USA maps that I installed in Florida using the DVD and my sister in laws comp. They were installed on a new SD card.
When I left i unistalled TT on her comp.
Now i am back in the UK do I have to run the USA DVD and install another TT home to enable me to check for any upgrades etc. Therefore having two installed.
I have swopped the SD card back and everything is working fine here again.
Any help would be appreciated. Please keep answers as simple as poss as I am not very good with all this stuff.

If you have 2 working SD cards then don't worry too much.
TT Home can be downloaded from their site or from the SD card. |

Hi. Do not really understand what you are saying. If I put my USA sd card in TT and connect up here will it do any USA upgrades. |

If you now install HOME on your own PC, you'll be able to connect your ONE and check for upgrades.
The latest version of HOME, 1.5(032) is available on TT Web Site. _________________ Richard

I have now downloaded TT Home from the TT site and it is saved on my comp. So if i just connect TT up with the USA road maps SD card in it it should automatically check things without interfearing with my normal TT home which handles my UK card, is that what you are saying? I am frightened of mucking things up. Thanks. |

If the latest Download of HOME is a later version of what's already installed on your PC, then it will update it.
Only one HOME will exist at any one time. As you change Cards you will need to go to Device | Change Device and HOME will take appropiate action.
If you're lucky it might even change on it's own. 8O
I only have the one Map so cannot speak from first hand. _________________ Richard

i connected my tt one v2 europe to home and selected the usa upgrade and put in my serial number which tomtom accepted and told me that the upgrade was free but i would have to pay $6 shipping..unfortunately the next step was to put in an usa/canada address for the dvd to be posted to...thats where i became unstuck being in the uk.... _________________ *************************** |

If the last time you used TomTom was in the USA, it will take a long time to reaquire your current position. _________________ Paul

Agreed eddie...
ascsbe, the same thing happened to a friend who managed to lose his Home location when he updated his maps. The system thought he was in Gibralter, so took a long time to work out it was actually in London. (We left it on the roof of his car for about five mins). After that it was back to normal. |

ascsbe,
How long did your TT take to get its first sat lock in Florida as a matter of interest?

Almost instant, went out to the Hire car, connected up and it just came up. for me to get the maps for free and so easy to download and set up it was great, and they will get used quite a lot as we try to go and see family a couple of times a year. |
