map updates for nuvi 300

hello all i am a bit new to this but could any one tell me if it is possible to update the current map on my nuvi 300 as it is now missing some major roads near me not looking clear on the garmin web site

Hi Clayton

Copy and paste in the following link to download and install the software to your PC http://www.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp
Then plug in your Garmin Nuvi via the usb cable and it will update itself using the software that you just downloaded. I know the last update version from Garmin was November 2006

this won't update the maps though as they need to be purchased seperatly.

the most recent version is v9 and has only just been released. bear in mind that it can take over 18months from a new road being made for it to end up on maps so it may not be on the latest version depending how old the new roads are.
