I have downloaded some poi's from poidownloaduk. The files are in the format used by TomTom, I think they are .ov2 format. I have tried to convert the files to Excel .csv files, which I think is the format used by RAC Sat Nav 110. Although the files will open in Excel, my satnav unit will not read them. I have opened one of the downloaded files in Excel to compare with a file preloaded on the satnav. Although they both open the data that they contains does not seem to be in the same format.

Am I missing something simple, or can anyone tell me how to format the .ov2 files so that my satnav unit can read them?

TIA - Steve

Please have a read through THIS Thread as it contains some information on formatting the data for the RAC 110 - I would also have a look at POIEdit for conversion between various POI formats - Mike

I can confirm that POI edit has "save as..." options as follows:
TomTom binary (.ov2),
TomTom itinerary (.itn),
generic ascii (.asn),
Smartpath binary (.ovr),
Destinator (.csv),
Navman (.csv),
Navio ascii (.asn),
Navio (.csv),
Garmin (.csv),
Destinator binary (.dat),
Miomap (.csv),
GPS Exchange format (.gpx) and
Google Earth (.kml)

Whether all the .csv versions are actually the same, I don't know though.
