Got a new blutooth GPS system with TomTom etc but is there a piece of software whereby I can chuck the iPaq & GPS in a rucksack, head out on the mountain bike and track where I've been on OS quality maps on the PC maybe even there and then or perhaps realise I'm in the middle of nowhere need to get home quick look on the iPaq and thattaway... ?

Hi there,
why not have a look at the MapTech products like PocketNavigator or OutdoorNavigator? Mike has done a review of those recently - you find it in the "topo software" section. TomTom is a street navigation program, and those are by definition unable to navigate off road.
