|
|
Ok this might be a silly question but, I have made 2 back ups, one using TomTom Home and the other using copy and paste using Windows Explorer and have noticed the copy and paste method has more folders and files that the TT Home backup namely;
Folders
Contacts (empty)
Logging (empty)
Files
ttdesk.ver (1kb)
Is this normal?
Just wondering as I was thinking of getting a 2gb card to use day to day and save the TT card and want to know should I use TT Home restore option or to copy and paste my Explorer files.
Sorry also what 2gb card would people recommend at the moment.
Many thanks

Logging (empty) | Another quirk of TT I suppose. It looks like it doesn't Backup empty folders.
So if you want them later on, you have to create them manually.

ttdesk.ver (1kb) | The only Backup I did with HOME copied this File with all the others.

Personally I use the old fashioned way.
As to SD Card, get a good make, that is reasonably fast. Usually called Hi-Speed, I would say anything above x10 Write Speed. _________________ Richard

Personally I've always copied and pasted onto a new card, inserted that in my TomTom, and "away ya go".
For normal Back Ups, to my pc, I use Home.
SD card, currently using 1Gb for Western Europe, voices etc.
Try www.mobymemory.co.uk and/or www.7dayshop.com
Both have good prices and products.
Cheers
