I am sorry to see that this database is now chargable when it was once free.... i have on many occassions given information of new cameras and where cameras have been added mistakenly.... its just a shame that you now have to pay a yearly fee when the database would not exsist without the general public giving updates... its a shame we have to pay for the knowledge we provided to this site.![Sad](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) |

You'd best go back and read up. If you contributed so much, the site would have records of it and you may well be eligible for lifetime memership which would mean the db would still be free to you.
Mind you, it's been a membership item for a year now; I'm surprised it's taken you this long to register and make your first post! _________________ Tim |

I got the cameras free from Summer 2005 and then submitted information whenever possible.
When the charging thing came in, I had already derived enough benefit to want to continue getting the database and was preparing to pay quite happily. Then they sent me an e-mail saying I'd already been contributing so I fell into the group to be offered free lifetime membership, which I accepted very gratefully.
Since then, I have continued to send in submissions and (I know it's easy to say so!) would be quite happy to pay for the database if I didn't have the free membership.
What's the problem? Can't afford £19? How much do you pay in bank charges for them to look after YOUR money? How much would you spend on a single night out? - I spent £40 on a meal for two recently (we DO live in the sticks), I put £20 into the Sally Army collection for Christmas Brass Band concert. None of them lasted even until the next speed camera! Try the monthly £2 instead. And if you are lucky enough to be the first to report a new camera, they'll give YOU a free lifetime membership too - there have recently been about 25 lucky people a month. The rest are all still quite happy to send in info whilst paying the subs to receive everybody else's information.
What I could never understand was how they did it for free in the first place!! _________________ Dennis

Quote: | I am sorry to see that this database is now chargable when it was once free.... | Going past a speed camera too fast will cost you about £60 and 3 points, that's 3 years subscription. Add the extra insurance you will pay and it's probably equivalent to 5 years plus.
So logically thinking, you could be getting 5 years FREE Speed Camera Database. :P _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property
