So far not much fun..............
It has been about 2 weeks since I assembled this package.
The Documentation included for the BTGPS is in Japanese-Machine-Generated Language. Absolutely inadequate .
FUGAWI, so far,has replied with directions to locate the manual on line.
Maptech, from whom I purchased the EMTAC BTGPS,promptly sent a replacement with little encouragement, after I told them that i could get no reply from EMTAC usa
EMTAC usa finally contacted me via e mail with a request for my phone #
which I promptly sent and waited and waited and waited until i recieved another E mail requesting I call with their number, Which I previously could get no response from.
I have left out a lot.
The EMMTAC usa guy finally told me to download the latest Bluetooth software from HP, Which I found that I allready had, and to load the
CRUX_view application, which I could not decipher from the documentation just what it was supposed to do. (only that it was a beta and they were not responsibleetc. ) The receiver works great, locks on Quick, etc. but Fugawi does not recognize it. I think that the EMTAC is configured to output on a port that fugawi does not recognize.
I cannot figure out which I can or should change ports on.
Anybody have any Ideas.
I still think this ia a great combination and really Like FUGAWI's name.
but think it may be appropriate in ways they had not originally intended. |

Do you have other navigation programs running on your iPAQ (not iPAC) - namely TomTom GPS?
Normally the Fugawi should recognize the BT GPS at port 5 or 8 , and at 38400 NMEA. _________________ Lutz

Still having no resultsin getting fugawi to accept the ENTAC BTGPS signal.Fugawi returns the notice port error or port not opened. I cannot figure out how to change the port on the installed Ipac version.of Fugawi.
Today I experienced a software error notice whilst trying to open Fugawi on my desktop.........Now it will not open.
(i am running a current version of Norton)
I deleted Fugawi and re-installed it ......same Problem
Maybe FUGAWI support will be back after the Holidays. |

Like Lutz asked, do you have any other navigation apps installed to the Pocket PC like TomTom Navigator ? If you do, these could be causing a problem, uninstall the TomTom~GPS driver if you do have TomTom Navigator installed.
Other than that, I can't see why Fugawi won't work, pointing it at the relevant COM port for Bluetooth should work.
Having this problem on the Pocket PC won't affect your install on the PC unless you have changed the configure and caused a problem. |
