Hi there,

Just before Christmas, I upgraded my tomtom Classic from version 5.0 to the latest 6.52, and bought the new latest map. All up to date then :D

BUT, and there always is...I see that now I can not go "Navigate To" and go directly to a POI. This is a blow for me beacuse I use the Golf Course POI catagory to navigate round golf courses in the UK. (For my job, not to play golf all day every day!)

Is there a way round this, without reverting to my backed up 5.0 version? Crying or Very sad

Any help appreciated, and Happy New Year to you all!

Boris.

Hi there, and thanks for the reply.

I see what you mean...but hang on, I probably didn't phrase the question very well Embarassed

Okay, an example. On the old 5.0 version, lets say I wanted to navigate to Preston GC - about 100 miles from my home. First, touch screen, then 'navigate to', then POI, then Golf Clubs, then pull up the keypad and type in Preston, and away tomtom goes and plans the route.

Now, on the 6.52 version....same example. First touch the screen, then 'navigate to', and yes, POI option comes up - BUT, and this is where it's different, now the screen menu offers, poi near you, in city, near home, along route, or near destination - it doesn't go straight to the POI catagories Evil or Very Mad So, bearing in mind you currently have no route planned, what do you do, I want to go to Preston GC. Now the only way I see is to touch the poi near home option and then the poi catagory, and then 'find' and then type in Preston GC....

Okay, okay, so what I hear you say, no big issue surely, and your right. BUT, it isn't as slick as the old way. I am certainly not moaning in a big way because in my 40k driving per year, the tomtom revolutionised my working day and took away so much stress.

So, what do you reckon, do I get used to the new way, or is there a way of 'customising' my menu screens Question

I know I'm rambling on like an old lady, but...

Best regards,
Boris

Better to use POI in City, than POI near You, if you know approximately where it is.;)

Hi there, and thanks Oldboy,

I'm hearing you, but it's still a 'touch' or so more than the old way. I am sure I'll get used to it. Sometimes theres so many golf clubs in the area that it's quicker to type in the actual club, than to scroll through the ones brought up without the keypad, so, the 'near home' option lets you pull up the keypad straight away, as opposed to typing in the city first.....

Thanks for your help though Smile
