Hi
I have just bought the south eastern usa maps for about 30 quid off tomtom.com, I only have 80mb on the 256mb memory card that came with it, I have a spare 1gb memory card to use though, to use it with tom tom do i just need to copy all the files off the tom tom card over and then install the usa maps too?
I will format the spare card 1st to make sure nothing is on it, but is there anything else I should do, or is it more complicated than just copying the files from one card to another?
cheers |

It is indeed that easy. Just make sure not to hide any files otherwise you might not copy all of them over. You know, there's a setting in Windows file explorer. _________________ Lutz

Hi nickc25,
I too have taken advantage of the 20% discount & downloaded the complete USA/Canadas maps.
The euro version TT one that I have comes with a 1GB card, I bought a 2nd 1GB card and initially copied the whole contents of the original onto it.
I used the tomtom home software to install the USA maps to my 2nd card and it said that there was not enough room-which I knew would happen, I thought though that it would give me an option to remove the european maps (having made sure that they were backed up first), it didnt so I just deleted them straight form the card & let TT home install the USA maps instead, It all seems to work OK, anyone see any problems with how I have done this.
One thing that really surprised me was that at no point did I have to enter the product code to 'lock' the USA maps to my particular tomtom unit.

I think that you will find POI's already there as part of the maps for the major attractions in Florida, I wondered the same question but easily found Busch Gardens & Magic Kingdom etc.
