Is still a good buy ? As at £227 for a Europe wide sat nav with Garmins reputaion for quality sounds good against the other possibilties like TT One and the Mio

i3, bad ... to small and it had a fiddly scroll wheel
good, price and clear loud voice

nuvi, bad... silly antenna on the back of unit and the routing on the map was jumpy .
good.. nice docking system ,able to put waypoints on via mapsource

tomtom one v2...small,customisable,very smooth mapping, cheaper than nuvi ,very cheap downloadable maps ..

Thank you Mr Zog...

That sort of cofirms my thoughts. I Like the TTS feature but don't see it as a show stopper if its not there. Tom Tom cetainly has a much bigger 3rd party following of useful little add ons. I think the higher range Garmin's look good but seem very expensive. All I want is a point to point sat nav to replace my PDA based Co Pilot 5, which I really like but never use the PDA for anything else....

No I didn't as other events took over hence looking again. I must confess reading recent posts and the issues around the latest 3.2 software release with the Mio concern me. Mind you most manufacturers have those.

Thought I would have a quick refresh of whats out their and have got my PDA back up and working as a temp solution but having seperate chargers/BT/PDA software and all the, relative, fiddly bits that come with that is still a turn off so the dedicated solution is still my fav. "I used to be indesisive but now I'm not sure " springs to mind but I think the Mio is still favourite! Its just so neat and the Garmin gets very mixed feedback in this forum.
