Hi all, I've been running TT5 on my Medion 96800 for about six months now, I recently bought a Mio P350 and installed TT6 on it. All the POI's that I had downloaded from various sites work fine with TT6. what I would like to do is transfer over all my favourites. On TT5 these were held in the file named map-info that is found in the map folder. I tried copying this over to the TT6 map and replaced the existing one there. it doesn't appear to do the trick. any ideas to save me sitting there with two sat navs and doing it the hard way by adding favourites as points on the map. |

hi mike, well I followed the link and then followed the instructions but to no avail. I am getting a strange occurrence. the map cfg file is 18kb. I rename it and load it to the sd card via the card reader. I insert the card into the mio and using file explorer I find that its still 18kb. however once i run tt the favourite icons are greyed out and when i recheck the file it has mysteriously become a 1kb file. dunno whats goin on. |

Did you re-name the file in Windows Explorer? - if so are you sure you haven't accidently named the file with a double extension - i.e. .cfg.cfg
you can check for this in Windows Explorer by going to tools/ folder options view tab and make sure the hide extensions for known file types is NOT selected, then view your file again - Mike |

Hi, yep I did everything as it should be according to the "idiots guide".
I keep lots of copies of sdcards on my lap top, I found every "MapSettings.cfg" file and all the "Australia-Map.cfg" files and I renamed them as required and installed them each in turn. All the files that had been sourced from TT6 cards worked fine, all the ones that were renamed tt5 ones did not. each of these files was also changed from several kbs to just 1kb by the ppc once tt had been run. so it looks like its the hard way for me. two sat navs and I'll have to make new favourites by browsing the map. boohoo |

Convert the favourites to POIs and then copy the POI file!

Andy_P2002 wrote: | Its a manual process so depending how many favourites you have, it will take a little bit of time.
1 ) First, create a new POI category (Preferences / Manage POI / Add POI category ). Call it "Favs" or whatever you like.
2 ) Then go Preferences / Manage POI / Add POI / Favourite / and select your first favourite.
3 ) Repeat step 2 for each of you favourites.
The POI file will be found in your map folder, called "Favs.ov2" (if that's what you called it). Just copy that file (and its matching .bmp icon file) to your friends machine's map folder and enable it in the manage POI menu. |

thanks for the replies fellas, unfortunately for me I did sit and do it the hard way, took me ages to to it, navigating to each fav in turn on one unit and then browsing the map on the second unit and then saving the new favourite.
Out of interest I then tried it BFG'S way and it worked fine. I know better for next time. |
