hello all,
i use TT Navigator 5 on my HP hw6515
i would like to enter a starting point from VA and would like to end the trip in a place in NJ. i have both maps (as individual files) but could not find how to enter these two places as beginning and starting points.
when va map is loaded, only the places in VA show up, and i cannot enter a destination in NJ.

is there a way to do this?
is there a way to load more than one maps?

thank you so very much for your kind help

With TomTom you can only load one map at a time, and you cannot through route from one to another.
I don't know if you have a Major Roads map in USA, but what we do here in Europe if we want to route from one country to another is to load the Major Roads of Europe map to plan a cross border route to our destination, and then, when in the destination country, load the street level map of that country. In fact, with TT5, it's even easier than that, as most of the individual country maps have a Plus variant, which includes the Major Roads of Europe. So if, for example, I want to drive from UK to Germany, I load the Germany Plus map, which allows me to plan a through route using major roads through Britain and France, and then have the benefit of street level mapping once I arrive in Germany.
But now I have TomTom 6, there is seamless street level mapping across the whole of Europe, and you can plan a route between any two points in Europe.

Hello Robin
thanks very much for your fast response.
you have answered me in a most clear way. i will either need to find out if there is a map that covers all the USA (or maybe just the easern region), or try to find the major roads map for interstate travels.

i can even use the yahoo maps for the major roads and the navigator is usually more handy for me when i arrive in cities and try to find a specific address. i usually miss the street when on directions and it takes a lot longer to find a way to go back. that is when i thank and praise the navigator exists.

thanks so very much. you saved me from a lot of trouble Smile)

kindest regards

Cuneyt

I think you will find that TomTom have just released a single map which covers the whole of North America.
