Hi, i need some advice. I have downloaded a POI file for my Garmin Nuvi 610. The file contained within the ZIP file is POIs without any extension.
I selected the Garmin button at the top of the page before download and was expecting to receive a CSV file. Am i doing something wrong, do i have to convert the POI file, if so with what or is there a problem with the operation of the Garmin button.
Any help and advice would be appreciated. |

The ZIP file itself is called POIs.zip - you probably downloaded it instead of opening it. Try again. Inside the ZIP is the CSV. _________________ Lutz

I downloaded the file POIs.ZIP, containing the Banks POIs. When i open the ZIP file and extract the contents, i get a file called: POIs (without any extension).
Opening the file in Excel only shows giberish, so the file is not a CSV file. |

Hi, i have resolved the problem.
The file inside the downloaded zip file is another zip file with the ZIP extension removed. Extract the file from the downloaded zip file and add the zip extension to this file. You can extract the Garmin CSV files from this.
I am using IE v7, so this may be yet another quirk of using version 7. I hope this helps other users. |
