|
|
I have been unable to log into home for the last 3 days, this worked perfectly before so i suspected that a windows security update or installing Microsoft Net had somehow messed things up.
Tried TomTom support and also posted on this forum on another thread no solution.
Tried installing on another of my computers again would not login, reset tomtom (TT1V3) back to factory settings again no joy.
Reset my wireless router.
Finally go it to login turned off my broadband via TalkTalk and used a dial in connection via modem using UK2 and it worked straight away.
It looks like TalkTalk is not allowing connection to the TomTom server to allow login.
Others who are having problems with home (may be others not just TalkTalk) should try an alternative method of accessing the internet to eliminate a possible reason for failing to connect.
I have asked TomTom to provide the server used for the login so i can report the fault to TalkTalk (the sooner i can leave TalkTalk the better absolute ) |

Have a look at ServerError.txt in Program Files/TomTomHOME. It should tell you what sort of connection error it was. _________________ Richard

Thanks for your input i had already done this at the start of the problem and provided this data to TomTom who to be honest offered no clue or solution to the problem. Latest message from TomTom was they were esculating to the Plus Experts until i told them the solution.
They will not supply the exact server address to home so i'll give notifing TalkTalk a miss (a waste of time anyway this outfit is best avoided IMO).
Given that others are experiencing problems with home this may be more widespread.
Example of the servererror :
connection error

Your last message on the thread

You now have the answer Your ISP for whatever reason is not allowing Home to access the TomTom server, try an alternative method of connection using another ISP. |

My error is quite different:
SERVER ERROR (Thu Dec 21 15:37:43 2006):
no file
Request: ServiceDiscoveryRequest. Reply: ServiceDiscoveryReply
Server: "sweet.tomtom.com". Path: "/cens/sweet/sd/"
Any clue on this one?
I've tried several settings in my connection, firewall, browser used, and no chance!!
Thx |
