I can't help but feel that this has probably been asked a million (ish) times already but this group is now so large that even a simple search still takes too long to analyse. So here goes:
I have TT5 running on a PDA which is not supported by TT5 - the Dell X5. So I understand an upgrade to V6 is not a goer without also updating the PDA which I don't want to do yet. However, I also believe that the V6 maps either work with V5 (?) OR a variant of them is available for V5 users but would appreciate confirmation of this because I find the TT website quite ambiguous.
If it is true that I can buy V6 level maps to run on V5 then if I understand correctly I can order the Europe maps for 80Euro ish. Are these the FULL street level maps of all the supported countries or is it the Major Roads of Europe?
I see reference to 'seamless' maps which suggests it might be the MRE but if it is the full detailed ones then are they issued as one big file or as separate country files?
Any advice or pointers would be appreciated.

To use the New Maps on TTN5 you need to Select first Navigator 5 and then 'Other Device' when asked.
The 80 Euros cost (£55) is a seamless Map that has street Level Mapping for 18 countries. It's also a 956MB Download.;) _________________ Richard

Thankyou Oldboy.
So I simply buy the TT6 Maps and then it allows the creation/extraction/modification of the TT5 variant at install time?
You say the Europe maps are seamless. That's good. Is it possible to extract/eliminate specific areas at install time? I realise that 1GB SD card doesn't hold a full 1GB after formatting etc but can I assume that the 956Mb does fit?
If this is the case then it is much easier than I imagined - thank you.
Re licensing. If I subsequently upgrade my PDA can I then install the downloaded maps - after buying the TT6 software of course?

I can see no reason why you wouldn't be able to upgrade to a new PDA. You would have to Re-Activate the Maps. You can do this after 7 days, and thereafter it's 6 months. _________________ Richard
