I have a MIO A201 running windows mobile 5. Recently it has warned me that storage memory is critically low and I need to free up some space. Unfortunately I don't know what is filling the memory as I mostly use the device as a GPS with only a few calendar entries and a couple of notes. I have 2 programs stored and thats about it as far as I know. Searching for lareg files only shows miomap and a couple of associated mapping files so I don't know what else I can delete.
Any thoughts on this. |

I am still getting the warnings and am no wiser on what I can clear out.
Any help? |

Hi,
What are the programs? Could it be something like Memory Map continuously building a track log? Can the programs be moved to internal ROM or the flash card?
A decent file explorer like Tascal Explorer (TPE) may give you a better idea of file sizes and dates. You should be able to install it to ROM or card (instead of the default location).
If you really aren't running much on the PDA, it may be easiest to backup your data, Hard Reset and reload the programs again. I presume you've already tried a soft reset.
Alternatively, try posting more details in the Advanced or Beginners lounge (depending on the type of answer you'd like) and maybe Lutz, or someone, will have an idea.
Sorry I can't be more helpful,
Cheers, Alan. _________________ Garmin GPS72H/76/60/45, Etrex H, Mapsource v6.5.

The programs are for the wifi card that I sometimes use to log onto my network and occasionally for internet access whilst out and about. I can't move to a card because the wifi card takes up the only slot and doesn't have built in memory. I don't know how to move to any other available memory slots.
I had somewhat resigned myself to hard resetting and then reloading the data I want, but need to find a few hours when I can sit down and think it through methodically. At the moment everything still works as long as I don't have to try and save any further information.
Thanks for the support. |

That seems to be the gist of the problem. However, the ie temp files folder wasn't full, I found some duplicate temp files located in windows profiles guest or something. These appeared to be surplus to requirements and now I have deleted them I have over 8mb of storage so I have enough to work with for now. |
