|
|
Hi all,
Some days ago I bought the above mentioned device. I could only charge it via car charger adapter. Via USB I couldn't get the green light. I tried all USB ports in 3 different computers, I even tried a special USB HUB (with it's own power supply) with no luck.
Bought a USB Home Charger (from TomTom) and the results are the same. No charging!
Finally I decided that the problem was the TomTom One Itself and I went to the store to replace it for a new one. I did it today.
The problem remains with the new one 8O . Just the same.
My only explanation is that TomTom made a deficient series.
Did anyone have the same experience?
I think I will get my money back and forget TomTom One

Don't think the ONE uses USB to charge...The other models need external chargers. You need to use the car charger or you need to buy the Home Charger as an accessory. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

New version (V2) DOES use a USB charger.
If it's charging via cig lighter then it's most likely your USB configuration in your PC, not the TT. |

rui_v mentioned the Tom Tom NEW Edition, which I believe requires a USB to PC to charge it at home. Whereas the Tom Tom ORIGINAL uses a mains charger at home.

I read this somehwere in the Forums but can't find the thread.
If you are using USB 1, I don't think you will get a charge even if your unit is capable of accepting one, you need USB 2. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property
