|
|
I read the thread about using an ogg file instaed of changing the data.chk file when downloading the pocketgps database which is fine and was working ok on all the tomroms but know I have the 910 I've done the same but it asks several question:
Full Spoken warning
Breif Spoken warning
Sound Effect
Type in your own
Which one do I choose if I just want it to use the ogg file that has allraedy been set up for it i.e pocketgpsgatso.ogg or something.
I did have a quick search but got lost in the ammount of info available. |

I haven't got a 910 available to me at the moment, but I believe if the ogg File is named correctly, and in the Map Folder with the POI's, it allocates the ogg file automatically without asking you to make a choice. _________________ Richard

This is correct I use a mixture of OGG style warnings and those using the Text To Speach method on my 910, it picks up the OGG file when present and doesn't offer the choice of warning sound by "normal" / "traditional" methods, you still have to set distance and POI on route (or not).
I never got the "Warning RedLight camera ahead" to work correctly with the TTS system, so I have an OGG style warning for this - Mike |

I've put the latest warnings in the western and central europe diectory and i've checked that the ogg files resemble the description of the pocketgps files exactly but it is still asking me those questions it did not on the 510. |

If it isn't asking for the sound it means the unit has picked up the new OGG file sounds instead. To prove this simply use Advanced Planning to set a depart from location and destination that you know goes past the type of camera. Once the route is set use View Route/ Show route demo (set the speed to 100%) and watch/ listen to what happens, this method saves going out in the rain! - Mike |

I'm sure when I set up my own warning messages before I used "HOME" as it was easier to type. Now when I try to add a new warning, and when I select to change an existing warning, I only get to select the bells and animal noises.
I'm using version 1.3 of Home.
I have to use the TomTom to be able to set my own warning messages.
Cheers

Paul, you have never had the capability to set-up the Text To Speech warnings using the Home application, from day one the only method to do this has been typing in the letters required upto the 60 character limit on the device directly - Mike |
