NO NMEA DATA navman icn610

hi all im new to the forums and to sat nav...i bought myself a navman icn610 of ebay last week so we could use it on our holidays.

every time i try searching for a signal it says no nmea data??? what does this mean?? i have tried this in the car outside i even bought an external ariel and still the same

i thought it might be where i stay? SHETLAND ISLES what do you think?

i leave to go on holiday in 2 weeks time and would like to get this working or i will have the wife banging my head 8O

so all or any help is very much appreciated.

ok i managed to download an update and now when i go to turn it on all im getting is the blue usb screen ARHHHHHHHHHHHHH

NMEA is the format of GPS messages from the GPS receiver. I is likely the GPS Reciever (the flip up part) has a fault, giving the "No NEMA Data" message.
The USB screen si bacause the software did not load properly - try again.
