No, not yet. There is always a possibility that Garmin will release more voices for their units, but until then, it's pretty difficult to change the voice (there are some people on these forums trying to work out how to achieve it though). |

Obviously, there are lots of famous voices readily available for the TomTom products, so can't these be ported somehow?
They must work in a similar way surely? |

Although the principles are the same, the units use completely different file formats, so there is no way to port the voice from one to the other. |

I wonder why Garmin haven't gone down this road yet !
There must be a buck or two in it for them. |

There's no problem converting between the different file formats - the main problem is that vocabularies are different. |

Well, I guess once Garmin have released the chargeable speed camera system, and then started to produce chargeable custom vehicle icons, they'll realise that they can equally charge for custom voices (might need some changes to WebUpdater to link it to an individual's MyGarmin account).
However, I suspect custom voices will be low priority for Garmin, if they ever release it. |

|

Hi guys sorry for my english....i'm new and i come from Italy.
Compliments for your great work.
Some questions... 8O
1) I'm tryn to work on files VPM into my 310...but when i run the splitter
all my waves are there but out of skew ( without logic ) .....for exemple Ramps says: Recalculating. Is it possible that 310-vpm are different than i3- vpm?
2) An error message compare at the end of the split. Is it normal?
3) I'm tryn to convert rgn from sp340 into vpm by omit the first 60 bit, but my 310
can't read that. |
