loading a route on Nuvi 310

Is there a way I can program a route on the garmin

i want to specify a route to follow - but be able to detour if needed

or can you save a route you have followed??

No, there isn't. Although some Nuvis ship with the MapSource DVD, you can't use this to send Nuvi like you can with some other Garmin devices.

Please feel free to contact Garmin and ask them to add this feature, although they have not done so yet.

You can use Autoroute to create a route and save the route as a list of waypoints that can be loaded into the Nuvi.

The real pain is that the Nuvi will only accept one waypoint as a Via point which means that if you have several waypoints for your route, you will have to navigate to each in turn.
