Question: is it possible to export TT POI`s that I`ve created to a file on my PC to be saved for later use.
My work involves working as a HGV driver for several diferent high street retailers, so as I visit unusual store locations I create a POI for that location, BUT several weeks later, I may be working for another retailer, obviously due to the limitations on the number of POI`s TT will save. I would like to be able to export to my desktop file the current POI`s for retailer A, and swop/import the POI`s for retailer B etc etc rather that erasing the saved POI`s that I`ve built up on my IPAQ.
How can I do this ?

Have a look at POIEdit its an application that allows you to see/ manage POI's on the PC, it can also translate the data into other POI formats for use with other sat nav products. Download it from HERE - Mike

Presuming that you are using TT5, with its 39 POI group limit, are you delivering for more that 39 High St chains? I take it that you have a group for ChainA and that when you visit a new store, you add a new POI to that group? However, in answer to your question, Yes, you can easily move the POI files out of the map directory and move others in. In fact, you could do this, on-the-fly, on your PDA, rather than on the PC. Just create a POI folder on your SD card and move the OV2 files in there. You don't need to move the associated BMP (and OGG) files.

The POI's are stored in the map folder of the memory card, you will need to look for the file name (which is the same as the POI name), there should be two files for each POI, unless you have been adding warning sounds as well - one is a bmp (image - the icon) the other is an ov2 file, it is the ov2 file that contains the POI Data - it is much easier to see the file extensions via the PC to be honest.
