Mysterious c510

Can anyone explain this?
Given facts:
- GPS - Garmin Street Pilot c510D
- Software - 3.30
- Car - Peugeot 307 SW with heat reflective windscreen
- Placement - far left lower corner of windscreen, no extra antenna

Normally I have to wait 5 to 15 minuts after a cold start inside the car before I get satelite reception. This could be explained by the windscreen.
Now to the mysterium.
If I, immedeatly after getting the first red dot on the satelite bar, switch the unit off and switch it on again I'll get (almost) full reception within a minute or two.

Btw, when I get reception the signal i almost at full strength all the time.

Have you applied all the firmware updates available for your unit?

If so, I would contact Garmin to get them to troubleshoot further to see if the unit is faulty.
