to the forum,
to change the firmware use the garmin webupdater programme. This may also update the audio version.
My advise is don't use the unit with the as supplied firmware and see how you get on. There are numerous posts and threads of others updating and they ended up with units that were always locking up, maps slow in updating and other faults. Others have ended up going back to there original firmware but reported that the unit was never the same
Look at the previous posts within this forum regarding updating before you make a decision
So there you have it just take your time , get the facts then decide, the unit as it is will work perfectly ![Thumbs Up](modules/Forums/images/smiles/custom2.gif) |

the audio version is also dependant on what type of I3 it is. some i believe show 2.4
This is discussed elsewhere, but for the timebeing i can't find it |

from memory audio version 2.5 is only on the 'internal memory' i3's although i recall someone showing pictures of heir 'memory card' i3 on 2.5...
the more recent audio updates only appear to provide extra functionality for non-english countries anywa so i wouldn't worry about it
