Nuvi 310 map back up

As the Nuvi map is in the unit, do I need to back it up? and if so how?

Connect your Nuvi to your PC via the USB cable, and using Windows explorer take a COPY of all the files on the Nuvi to somewhere safe.

These files include the map files.

The risk of corruption to the map file is small, but can happen, so a backup is wise. It's also wise to take a backup before you update the software in the Nuvi.
