|
|
Hi All,
Had my Mio 168 stolen last week and looking to get a replacement ASAP.
Looked around on net and seen that the 168 has been upgraded to the P350 and P550.
But, which one is the better unit ???
I have a back up copy of Tomtom 5.21 and GB map that was installed on the 168 so i dont need to purchase that.
will be used for GPS and media player (mp3s etc) sometimes word and occasionally connect to internet
Is the extra money justified on bluetooth and wifi on the p550 or is the p350 and wifi sd card just as good ??
Just looking for guidance or should i consider a different unit all together
Thanks

Some P550 units had a problem with poor locks but that has all been resolved. I'm quite happy having changed from my 168 to a P350.

| Use your CD's to install maps and then Activate to new device, this will remove the activation code from the 168 and hopefully cause the thief problems at a later date. :P _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

P350 and P550 are identical except for BT/Wifi.
If you need those you should go for P550. Add on cost more in the end and may have problem in use.
You cannot load your back up from 168 into P350 or P550. _________________ Pc-Mobile

Thanks for the replys,
Pc-mobile, you say that i cannot load back-up from the 168 to a p350/550. The back-up i am refering to is the tomtom 5.21 and maps + the mp3 files that i had installed.
Will these not be compatable with the p550 ??
Thanks

When I changed from my 168 to P350, all I did was pop the SD Card into the 350, I had to activate maps to new device, and everything worked fine. So my guess is all you would have to do is copy your backup to your new SD Card and all will be well. Get your maps activated to your new device asap. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property
