I found this upgrade on the Navman site a few days ago reduced to (I think £60). I now cannot find it again and the site shop says that is no longer available.
Trolled around elsewhere and cannot find it at any price.
Anyone know if it is still available anywhere _________________ Gee-Pee

Thanks, Tim.
I'm just in one of my 'dithering' modes at the moment. Trying to decide whether to upgrade to a new device or just upgrade the present one. _________________ Gee-Pee

Just to add a little info here. I have had a word with Navman and they are now totally out of stock of the SmartST 2005 & Maps for the iCN510. As you point out Tim, they are still available in some outlets - but not many.
Navman say that new software and maps, SmartST 2006, are due to be released mid-October as a bundle and it will be possible to upgrade direct from v3. No price mentioned yet, so I will hang on and see.. _________________ Gee-Pee

Thats great news - I suppose you get the 7 digit postcodes with that.
Personally I would buy a new product rather than upgrade. The SiRF III GPS is worth it, and the Li batterys they use in these gadgets (Not just Navman and GPS's) have a rated shelf life of about 3 years, no matter how much you use them. After that they loose capacity. You can then sell your old unit and possibly have new hardware and software for less than the cost of the software upgrade.
- and you keep up with the Jone's :D |

Just to confirm, so the ICN510 isn't "Dead and Buried" just yet, there will be another set of maps, and may be SmartST2006 made available for it?
My ICN510 is currently running SmartST2005, which I'm quite happy with, but a reasonably priced Map and Software upgrade would be nice.

Yes, that's exactly what Navman have said. The package will be new maps and new software. No price of exact availability published yet - unless someone knows better _________________ Gee-Pee
