Having just made the jump from V6 to V8 mapping on my Quest I'm a little perturbed by the fact that the last audio warning I get for a turning is usually at 1/3 or a mile. I'm pretty sure that with V6 I got a final one just before the turn and I certainly do with my i3 that has V8NT.

Is there a setting that I've missed somewhere or is this normal?

Hi M8

I don't get the logic behind the time/distance the Quest (in my casse Q2) uses as guide on how early or late it starts with the information. As I've got a Q2 I did never a map update. But I've two things I noticed: For one, with the latest firmware update, the advanced notices are somewhat earlier. On the other hand, there are cases in which I actively press the speaker button to start the announcement about what happens next on the route. I think, Q2 somehow takes note of that and uses the current distance to the next turning as a hint for the future. Not sure about that, though. Question Confused

Do others have any idea about how it's really handled?

Thanks, that would be a handy feature if it really does do that. Will try it and see.

I can imagine that having a warning 1/3 of a mile before a turn in built up areas would be a problem but being a hayseed I don't get into town much Smile
