Hi,

Anyone know if changing the type of vehicle actually makes any difference to the routing.

I have set mine to both Truck and Bus, but it still sends me down really narrow country lanes that neither a bus or truck would travel on. In some cases the roads are so unused that there is grass growing in the midde.

I take it there is definately no way to tell the system to stay on 'A' roads only??

Thanks in advance.

Mussey1.

you could tick 'unpaved roads' ..that might help..but sat navs are notorius for sending people through deep fords and narrow lanes, but with common sense and looking at roadsigns you should'nt have many problems..

According to accounts of Garmin's conversations on this, the choice of vehicle has no bearing on route calculation or road choice at all. According to what's been posted as commentary about this, it's sole purpose is to assist in providing timings / speeds on certain types of roads.

You're correct, there is no way to do this.
